How long does a dental implant last?
With good hygiene and regular checkups, the implant post can last for decades. The crown on top may need replacing after roughly fifteen years of normal wear.
Does getting an implant hurt?
The procedure is done under freezing, so you should not feel pain during placement. Most patients describe the recovery as milder than a tooth extraction.
How long does the whole implant process take?
Usually three to six months from placement to final crown. The post needs time to fuse with the bone, and rushing that step risks the implant failing.
Am I a candidate for a dental implant?
Most healthy adults are. You need enough jawbone to hold the post, and where bone has been lost we can discuss grafting first. We take imaging and give you a straight answer.
